How Moen helps the VISION House Las Vegas take water conservation to a new level.
At VISION House Las Vegas, water isn’t just a resource—it’s a responsibility. In a region where every drop counts, Beazer Homes and Green Builder Media partnered with Moen to integrate smart water solutions that deliver performance, comfort, and serious conservation.
From flow-sensing faucets to water-saving showerheads, Moen’s innovative technologies are showcased throughout the home, helping residents live more sustainably without sacrificing experience or elegance.
“We installed the Moen FlowSense product,” says Justin Andersen, Director of Operations for Beazer Homes Las Vegas. “It’s great for conservation—as homeowners turn the faucet on, they use less water because of the innovative flow technology. They still have the same water pressure and quality experience, which is important. It doesn’t feel like they’re using less water, but they are.”
That mindful approach extends to the entire water delivery system. Beazer has shortened the distance between the water heater and fixtures to reduce wait times and waste. This smart plumbing design pairs perfectly with Moen’s technology to create a fast, efficient, and low-consumption experience.
Andersen emphasizes the water-energy connection too: “Every time we turn the faucet on, we don’t realize we’re using energy at the same time. The movement, the transportation of water, the purification of it—all of those take energy, and the more water you use, the more energy is consumed.”
In the bathrooms, Moen fixtures carry the same ethos. With low-flow showerheads and faucets designed to meet WaterSense certification standards, the VISION House delivers luxury without excess.
But the innovation doesn’t stop at the tap. Moen’s smart leak detection and auto shutoff features give homeowners the upper hand in water management. “If there's water consumption happening at a weird time—say, 3:00 in the morning—it can sense it through an app and notify a homeowner,” says Andersen. “You can say, ‘Hey, I’m at work, there shouldn’t be any water running. Let’s turn that thing off,’ and it will turn off.”
Whether it’s reducing waste, preventing damage, or protecting Lake Mead, Moen’s smart water technology makes it easy for VISION House residents to be water stewards.
“We’re doing our part for the environment,” Andersen asserts. “It’s all about building a home that’s as responsible as it is beautiful.”
