Our Presenter

Scott Sanders - Director of Construction, Kinexx Modular Construction

Currently the Director of Construction for Kinexx Modular in Chicago, Scott started building high performance, energy efficient infill homes in 2013, hoping to find a balance between his experience with large production home builders and small non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining the Kinexx team in 2022, Scott worked for two national production homebuilders, a non-profit weatherization organization and ran his own building company for almost 10 years, earning 5 Housing Innovation Awards from the Department of Energy and building some of the most affordably efficient homes in the Chicago area along the way. All of those prior experiences have coalesced to give him a unique insight into the pros and cons of how homes have been built over the past 100 years and how energy efficiency and varying building methods can affect the long term ownership cost and durability of a structure. His passion for building high performance homes at a production scale is supported by a personal interest in sustainability in his day to day living and local community involvement.
