Ron Jones, President of Green Builder Media, spoke with Shawn Hunter, Global Sustainability Director at DuPont Shelter Solutions, about the importance of a tight building envelope and how DuPont continues to innovate to deliver effective weatherization solutions.

“We see ourselves as a combination of products, knowledge, and service,” Hunter explains. “Along with offering products like our Tyvek, we have a building knowledge center that helps builders determine the best way to meet code. We also have a service team out on job sites making sure these products are installed properly the first time.”

DuPont recently released an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Tyvek. “We’re excited to offer a bio-based, certified version of Tyvek for customers and builders interested in reducing environmental impact,” Hunter says. “It’s an ongoing effort to balance the natural environment with the built environment.”

EPDs are becoming more common as builders and consumers alike push for greater transparency in material sourcing and environmental impact. DuPont has emerged as an industry leader in this space, offering EPDs across its product lines to support informed, sustainable choices
