Built to withstand Category 5 hurricanes, this LEED Zero-certified neighborhood in Cortez stayed safe and powered during back-to-back storms that left millions without electricity.

Another winner, the Bell Residence in Michigan, the state’s first PHIUS+ Zero-certified home transformed a 1902 home into a modern marvel. This project combined deep energy retrofits with historic preservation, demonstrating that even century-old homes can meet today’s ambitious energy and health standards.

Unity Nano in Vermont, a small-footprint dwelling, proves that big sustainability can come in compact packages. 

Green home honorable mentions spanned off-site construction, net-zero multifamily projects, and rainwater-powered estates, reflecting the diversity of what “green” can mean.
