Green Products Increase Appeal of Beazer’s Sustainable Homes

Products that are manufactured responsibly contribute to the sustainability at the VISION House Las Vegas.
While builders, architects, and homebuyers are likely to concentrate first on energy efficiency and healthy home features at the VISION House Las Vegas: Crossing the Rubicon project, visitors are also likely to be inspired by the interior design choices.
VISION House Las Vegas, a partnership by Beazer Homes and Green Builder Media, will include two model homes at the master planned community of Cadence in Henderson just outside of Las Vegas.
In addition, a deconstructed model will be onsite for builders, contractors and buyers to see what’s behind the walls in Beazer’s READY homes. These homes and all future Beazer homes will meet the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home requirements.
Moving the needle on energy efficiency is just one piece of the sustainability elements at this project. Every product, feature and system in the model homes represent the commitment of their manufacturers to sustainability. >
“This project allows us to demonstrate that style, durability and sustainability go hand in hand,” says Mike Profilio, senior director for the builder channel at Dal-Tile Corporation. “We want to showcase that our products not only deliver exceptional looks and performance but also play a vital role in creating homes that align with today’s sustainability standards.”
Daltile’s tiles will be installed in multiple spaces in the model homes at VISION House Las Vegas.
“This thoughtfully curated collection of tile and countertops is designed to elevate every space,” Profilio says. “Featuring natural, elegant mosaics, textured wall tile, rich-toned designs and timeless floor tile, the collection also highlights striking veined countertops that make a statement. The selection ranges from versatile, understated options to eye-catching, standout designs.”
Progress Towards Sustainability Goals
Daltile is committed to creating tile responsibly.
“Sustainability means working with nature, not against it, ensuring the planet’s ability to provide for future generations,” Profilio says. “We take pride in being part of the climate change solution by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through decarbonization and renewable energy.”
Daltile’s efforts have resulted in multiple measurable achievements, including:
From 2018 to present, a 17% reduction in their carbon footprint.
Over 99% of their tile collections contain recycled materials.
Daltile recovers and reuses 84% of all process wastewater generated in their manufacturing plants to make tile products.
Daltile’s measures have prevented over 125 million gallons of wastewater from entering local municipal water treatment facilities.
Daltile’s North American facilities recover and reuse over 300 million pounds of recycled and/or reclaimed material per year.
The corporation has reduced their total energy consumption by 11% at all sales service centers and distribution facilities.
Daltile’s commitment to sustainability recognizes that the future depends on innovations and on work done today, Profilio says.
“For us, our promise for sustainability extends beyond just products and processes: it is how we challenge ourselves to do and be better every day, how we make decisions, through our commitment to a sustainable future for both our people and our planet, and how we define what matters as we work to deliver value for generations to come,” he says. “Daltile’s approach to this mission is threefold: to invest in our people, to protect the planet, and to govern all conduct according to our values.”
