The Housing 2.0 Workshop Series Returns on October 17.

If you are an avid consumer of all things Green Builder Media, then you are certainly aware of the Housing 2.0 Program. Between the online workshops, the Thought Leader webinars and the in-person events, there has been ample opportunity for you to partake of the Program since it began in 2021.

Rethink

Whether you’re well versed in Housing 2.0 or you’ve never participated in the program before, there is no better time to engage than now! The next workshop series, beginning on October 17, will bring an entirely new perspective and fresh educational content.

In this next workshop series, Sam Rashkin, former Chief Architect at the Department of Energy, father of the ENERGYSTAR program, and creator of the Housing 2.0 curriculum, will make a compelling case for why we need to rethink how we go about designing and building homes.

Sam will discuss how disruption is necessary in order to transform an industry that is historically resistant to change. Citing examples from the 1800s and 1900s, he’ll emphasize that in order to achieve our environmental goals, we need to evolve our processes.

The good news is that the technologies and innovations already exist to usher in massive transformation in the built environment.

This upcoming four-part series will tap into the expertise of industry leaders and cutting-edge thinkers to explore solutions for decarbonizing homes and buildings.  The workshops will follow a challenge-solution format during which Sam will highlight perceived barriers to higher performance, healthier, more sustainable homes, and hand-picked subject matter experts will then explore accessible, cost-effective solutions to those challenges.

We invite you to join us for this series of workshops that will provide a novel perspective on Housing 2.0 fundamentals. Even if you have participated in previous virtual sessions or live events, there will be new learnings for everyone!

The first workshop will start on Thursday, October 17 at 12 pm ET.  The remaining three sessions will occur on the following Thursdays, at the same start time of 12 pm ET. Each week, we’ll delve into different subject material, which you’ll hear more about in the coming weeks. I look forward to having you with us later this fall.
