Watch this video and learn how the Broan-NuTone AI Series fresh air system solves a vexing problem for builders.
Broan-NuTone’s new AI Series of residential fresh air systems, combined with the company’s new VIRTUO Air Technology, eliminates key headaches plaguing contractors as they’ve tried to go about their business during the pandemic.
With this system, there’s no need to adjust or fine-tune balancing dampers, pressure taps, or pressure gauges. Energy costs are cut by up to 60 percent, as VIRTUO automatically adjusts and optimizes air quality around the clock.
“We selected the Broan AI system for its installation hack. It has solved one of the biggest headaches that I hear about from builders all the time, which is balancing the ventilation,” says Green Builder Editor-in-Chief Matt Power.
Broan hit on the perfect solution through a significant amount of research, interviewing contractors all over North America. “With the new virtual air technology, the product conducts its own airflow verification, testing the initial setup,” explains Travis Rasch, Broan Senior Product Manager, U.S. Fresh Air Systems. “Once this is established, the installer is able to use an integrated LCD screen with three simple control buttons to conduct the final few steps of the install process.”
The product’s AI takes it from there, maintaining the balanced airflow as conditions change inside and outside the home. The result is a superior filtration system that filters and eliminates what some purifiers and open windows can’t, such as bacteria, viruses, allergens, mold and smoke.
The advanced LCD touchscreen controls feature simple, streamlined settings, allowing homeowners to easily operate and customize the unit, meaning fewer callbacks.
The unit features an ultra-efficient and reliable permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), electronically commutated motors (ECMs), and the filtration system comes with MERV 8 air filters, but can be upgraded to MERV 13. The system’s compact platform design makes it easy to install just about anywhere, and helps simplify servicing and maintenance.
