Ryan Colker: This is both an exciting and challenging time for the building industry. We're facing the growing frequency and intensity of hazard events, the availability and affordability of housing, and limited availability of workers. Fortunately, there are industry leaders working to address these challenges. My role at the International Code Council is who identify how we can contribute to the solutions, whether it's developing community resilience benchmarks through the Alliance for National and Community Resilience, or new standards to support offsite construction, or identifying pathways for addressing changing risks within codes and standards.
