You’ve heard the good news about how the Inflation Reduction Act offers financial incentives that can help your building business–but exactly how do you take advantage of its opportunities?
“This resource will help you make sense of which IRA programs to apply for, how to avoid application mistakes, and what you can expect when participating in federal funding for things like energy efficiency, infrastructure, sustainable building technologies, and much more,” says Green Builder Media CEO Sara Gutterman. “The book also includes 2023 COGNITION Smart Data survey results that show how your building industry peers are addressing and using IRA opportunities.”
For example, the COGNITION survey reveals that six of 10 building pros are familiar with the IRA funding pools, and about the same number have already taken advantage of one or more funding opportunities.
Of the respondents, 63% plan to apply for funding in the future for efficiency upgrades like high-performance windows, insulation, and tighter building envelope systems.
“These survey results are exciting because they indicate that electrification technologies like heat pump HVACs, induction cooktops, and demand-side energy management (and many others) will be specified in new houses,” Gutterman says. “This will make a big difference in the carbon footprint of tomorrow’s housing–while putting money back in builders’ pockets.”
